Honoring the Past, Preserving the Future

The history of the Ranch

Built by architect Robert “Bob” Morris, Gemini Moon Ranch carries the heart of Temecula’s history. Bob first rode his horse into the valley in 1969 and immediately fell in love with the land. He became a pioneer of Old Town Temecula’s revival in the 1970s, designing its signature arches, sidewalk medallions, and many of the buildings that still stand today. Around the same time, he built his own home in the hills of De Luz, shaping it after 1800s California. He lived here until his passing in 2018 at the age of 85.

Known as a master storyteller and founder of the legendary Temecula Tractor Mud Races, Bob left behind a legacy rich in creativity and community spirit. Throughout the property, you’ll find repurposed historical elements he personally rescued—roof embellishments from crates that once carried Palomar telescope lenses, embossed tiles from the Alberhill Post Office, windows from Murrieta Hot Springs, and wood reclaimed from Hemet Stock Farm, Vail barns, and even a turkey plant in Montana.

Today, the Gemini Moon Ranch Historic  Foundation preserves and restores this beloved ranch, honoring Bob’s vision and his love of history, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Every event, stay, and creative gathering here helps continue the legacy of the man who built it.
